Photo Magnet Gift & Magnet Board Roundup

The holidays are officially just around the corner. That means that it is time for gift giving. Meaningful and personal gifts are my favorite gifts to give to family members, especially grandmas and grandpas.

I especially love photo gifts. This season my go-to holiday photo gift stop is Walmart Photo. They have a crazy variety of photo products. They have holiday cards, same day canvas, same day calendars, photo books, ornaments, mugs, blankets, totes, and the list just keeps going.

One of my favorite holiday photo gifts are these photo magnets.

I was able to go through and pick some of my favorite moments of the year and some special photos of my kiddos that I know Grandma will appreciate. I ordered half in the 4x6 and the other half in 3x4. I ordered them online and had them shipped to my house. Just like that. The great thing about Walmart's holiday photo gifts is that they are also easy to order and pick up at the store.

They have great quality products. Sometimes photo magnets are super flimsy. Not these. They are sturdy and the photo quality is gorgeous.

They look so great laid out in a mosaic pattern on this cute magnet board.

I thought it would be fun to add a magnet board to this photo gift. That way Nana has a way to display her photos.

I packaged these photo magnets in a simple brown goody paper bag.

The really cool thing is that even in the bag the photos stuck to the magnet board. So all I had to do was tie some ribbon around the board and BAM I had a present all cute and ready to give.

Such cute and high quality photo magnets really should have a cute place to display them. I found my magnet board at Hobby Lobby and it was 50% off, so basically it was a steal. This would be a SUPER easy magnet board to DIY too.

If you are thinking about giving some super cute photo magnets for a holiday gift, then you are probably looking for some cute ideas for magnet boards.

Look no further, here is a roundup of some of my favorite DIY Magnet Boards.

Give memories this holiday season. They really are the best gift to give. Walmart is a great source for giving photo gifts. Check them out. Get creative.

Santa Thank You Tags

This year for Christmas we have been trying to do a lot more little acts of service and kindness. There are so many people who serve us and deserve our thanks. A lot of them we really hadn't thanked. So we made a list of people we wanted to thank for Christmas.

One of those people was our Mailman.

I gathered up a few cute paper bags, some washi tape, and a gift card. I also made up these cute Santa Thank You Tags using PicMonkey. PicMonkey has some ridiculously cute holiday overlays. I have used them in our Garbage Man Thank You and for our Dear Santa Letter. Basically I can't get enough of all the holiday goodness.

I also threw in a few pieces of chocolate, because well chocolate is always a good idea.

These Santa Thank You Tags are generic enough that they can be used to thank anyone. All you need to do is right click on the photo below and open it in a word document. Then print and cut out.

Now all we had to do was leave it for our Mailman for a little holiday cheer and thank you.

Who do you want to thank this year?

Christmas Thank You for the Garbage Man

This Christmas we are trying to think of more opportunities to show kindness to those around us. We are trying to think of who we can thank or serve. It is our Christmas of Kindness.

This week we decided to serve our Garbage Men. They work super hard. They work in the cold, the heat, and here, in the WIND. They heft our garbage filled cans. They heft our grass filled cans.

Basically, they are amazing.

To thank them we put together these gift bags.

First I went to my ever faithful PicMonkey and made this graphic for our Christmas Thank you to our Garbage Men. How stinking adorable is that abominable snowman? I just adore PicMonkey's Christmas overlays.

I printed off the graphic onto brown paper lunch sacks. You can find my tutorial on how to print on a lunch sack HERE. You can also just print this off on a piece of paper and make a tag.

Since I have an obsession with matching colors, Crunch bars were a must.

I also had some blue striped washi tape sitting around.

Another fun feature to this Christmas thank you, was the batting I used inside to mimic snow. The purpose was double fold. The batting also helped the bag stay upright.

Hopefully we make the day of some Garbage Men.

We have a couple more Christmas Service ideas in our Christmas of Kindness 2014 and I am excited to share them with you.

Family Cookbook

This Family Cookbook has been a year in the making. Last year I thought it would be fun to make an actual bound real book full of our favorite recipes and give them out as presents to family members.

As happens most Christmases, I bit of a wee bit more than I could chew and my cookbook idea got moved to the back burner...the way back there back burner.

This year I started early, because I really, really wanted to make this cookbook.

I used Blurb to create my book. They are a great website that helps you format books of all kinds. Seriously, any book you want to make you can. You simply download the software onto your computer, pick the format you want, and start creating.

For our Family Cookbook, I was able to use photos I had taken for this here blog and then I just typed in the recipes in. The hardest part of the whole thing was compiling and then narrowing down.

I chose a hardback book with a book jacket, because I kind of wanted  to feel a little legit. Just for a bit.

I totally love how it turned out.

I named it Just Another Day in the Kitchen. I know I am a genius!! Hahaha!

When I was going through all the recipes to make this book, I realized all the yummy food we have eaten.

Then I saw the pictures, and I realized how much I love food.

A Family Cookbook is a really fun thing to compile. You could use your recipes, you could use your mothers recipes, or recipes from everyone in the family. With a little bit of organization, over a year you could make all your favorite family recipes and take pictures. Then around Christmas time you have enough to make a recipe book.

This was one of the most fun presents to make, and I happen to know that the recipients of these cookbooks thought they were fun too.

I enjoyed this project, and I know you will enjoy making your very own.

I was in no way compensated by Blurb for this post.
I am just delighted with my experience and feel like I should share the love.
