Basket of Sunshine {with Printable}

Is anyone else ready for Spring yet?

ME! ME!

I actually don't mind Winter. However, here in Idaho Winter comes early, hits hard, and lingers. So about the middle of February I start longing for Spring. In fact, in these here parts of the woods if we have a day in the low 40's we leave our coats at home and some even brave a pair of shorts (mostly adolescent boys).

So yes, I am ready for some sunshine and Spring.

Speaking of sunshine, today I have this fun and easy Basket of Sunshine idea for you and there is a free printable.

We used this basket of sunshine as an act of service. We had a person in our neighborhood who was going through a tough trial. We wanted to let him know we were thinking of him. So we went to the store and gathered up a cartload of yellow things.

Some of the things we chose:

-box of Golden Grahams cereal
-snack size bag of Golden Oreos
-Lay's in a canister
-bottles of Fanta pineapple soda
-bags of microwave popcorn
-small bag of Peanut M&M's
-Lemonheads

I spray-painted an old crate we had bright and sunny yellow. Once it was good and dry, we loaded up the crate with our sunshine goodies. I tied a bit of fabric around it and attached the Sunshine tag.

Save the image of the tag to your computer and then you can print it off in the size you need.

This really is a fun way to brighten someone's day and to get out there and offer a bit of service. My kids really became invested in this little service project. I love service like that. Plus you guys know how much I love myself some color coordination.

Lunch Thank You Basket (with Printable)

When one goes out of town for a week and one foists ones children on her friend, a gift of gratitude is necessary. Especially if one has FOUR boys. That is a lot of foisting happening right there.

My gift was actually less of a gift for her and more of a gift of sanity. I decided to put a bunch of lunch fixing into a giant basket. I figured if she was willing to watch my boy I should probably provide lunch for all the children.

I grabbed a cute and inexpensive plastic beach tote and I loaded it up with lunch stuff. Stuff like bread, lunch meat, chips, apples, lemonade, and cookies.

Then I made a tag and attached it to my basket.

Right click on the tag above, save it to your computer and then print if off on card stock.

This is such a fun and easy way to thank a friend for watching your kids.

Strawberry Shortcake Thank You Basket

Adorable Thank You Gift- make this cute Strawberry Shortcake Kit with printable!

Strawberry season is closing in. Are you as excited about that as I am? Where strawberries are there is strawberry frozen yogurt, strawberry lemonade, strawberry pie, strawberry spinach salad, strawberry jam, and of course Strawberry Shortcake. I recently had a few friends do me the biggest favor ever. They watched my three older little men while my littlest man and I went on a week long trip. There is no feeling like not having to worry about where your kiddos will be during the day while you are out of town. That kind of peace of mind deserves a really a big THANK YOU. A BERRY special kind of Thank You if you will. Hahaha. We all have people in our lives who are BERRY sweet. There are teachers, neighbors, friends, moms, and so many others all awesome enough to be thanked with Strawberry Shortcake.

Making your own Thank You Strawberry Shortcake Kit is really easy.

Then we have whipped cream.

Now introducing the strawberry glaze and cakes of the shortcake variety.

Everything is store bought. I simply prettied everything up just a tad. I put the strawberries in a fun paper berry container. I added a paper doily and yarn to the whipped cream. The store bought strawberry glaze found a new home in a fun textured mason jar.

I printed out the Thank You tag and attached it to the basket with a cloths pin.

Guacamole Birthday Basket (and Printable)

Do you know anyone who likes guacamole?

Duh. The better question would be do you know anyone who doesn't like guacamole? You should probably kick those people to the curb. Kidding. Not everyone is perfect. We all have our flaws.

Just glad mine isn't a misguided dislike for guacamole.

Back to people liking guacamole. Well if that guacamole-loving person in your life has a birthday, and well they should because everyone has a birthday, then they really need this Guacamole Birthday Basket.

You need very few things to put this basket together.

First you need this little Holy Guacamole Birthday tag.

Just save the image to your computer. Then print off.

Then gather up all the guac superstars and put them in a basket. I used the ingredients from my favorite Guacamole Recipe.

I put tomatoes, avocados, onion, cilantro, and limes in a basket. I added in a bag of tortilla chips. I also added in the most amazing kitchen tool ever. The OXO avocado slicer. Guys this thing will change your life. Like for reals.

That tool alone will make your gift the best. Who needs jewelry when you could get an avocado slicer? Not me.

Happy, Happy Birthday. Make yourself some guacamole. You're welcome.

Peel Better Soon Get Well Gift Basket

Hi my name is Larissa and I have an addiction to making gift baskets.

True story.

This Get Well Basket idea just kind of popped into my head. I am discovering that I tend to think in play on words. I would play back the conversation I had in my head about this idea, but I am pretty sure it is way more funny in my head.

So I will spare you. Just know that I thought feel better...PEEL better...get well gift basket with bananas and oranges.

That is how the Peel Better Soon get well gift basket was born.

I put a bunch of bananas and some oranges in a basket. Tied it all up pretty like and then I added this simple Peel Better Soon tag.

I made this tag in Picmonkey.

Once this lovely little get well soon basket was all wrapped up, it got dropped off at my friend's who had just had surgery.

Oh gift baskets and play on words, you make me so happy!!

Stay Cool Gift Basket {with printable}

Lately it would seem that I am kind of obsessed with making themed gift "baskets". Just in the last couple months there has been a Strawberry Shortcake gift basket shared at Thirty Handmade Days and a Picnic themed gift I shared for a teacher gift idea.

I can't seem to help myself. I love a good gift basket and I love it even more when there is a theme. Two things I obsess over, sticking to a theme and color coordinating things. I geek out just thinking about it.

So now Summer is in full swing, well most of the time anyway. If you follow me on Instagram (which heck, ya should @larissa_anotherday), you know that over here in these neck of the woods last week it was in the high 40's DURING THE DAY. I am trying to get over it. The weather is now appropriately summery.

Now that Summer is upon us I thought it would be fun to do a water themed gift for some special little boys I know.

A little "Stay Cool" gift you could say.

I gathered some supplies at The Mart. Read my Ten Craft Supplies to Buy at Walmart post to find out what I get at The Mart on a regular basis. As for this gift, can you beat those super cute towels for $5.88 a piece? I think not!

In this basket I put cute beach towels, water guns, a "Get Dad" water gun target t-shirt, water balloons, and Gatorade.

I also made this tag, in PicMonkey of course, because I LOVE that site. Like a lot, a lot.

I put everything in a plastic drink bucket and then attached the tag.

Now it is ready to give to some cute little boys. Just in time for a Summer scorcher.

Stay cool everyone.
