Soda Teacher Appreciation Week Tags

Elephant in the room...yes this is the first blog post I have done in like a year and a half. Also, it is gonna be a short one. Ha.

I am coming to you today because it is Teacher Appreciation Week and I LOVE Teacher Appreciation Week. I posted a photo of one of my gift ideas on Instagram (@larissaanotherday) and before long I had several request to make the tags available to print. So I got my fanny in gear and put it online.

I had seen a similar idea to this but with alcohol instead of soda. I thought right away about how appropriate this was for at least one of my little men. He is a little bit of a cute wiggly handful. I knew I had to make these for our teachers Since I am not a drinker and neither are my boys' teachers, I had the idea to attach a gift card to a soda shop. I made two sets of tags. The first set of tags have a space to attach a drink shop gift card and the second set was made to attach to a single drink.

Thanksgiving Teacher Appreciation Mini Pies Thank You and Printable

 Yesterday I posted this Thanksgiving teacher mini pie gift on Instagram. I had a few people ask about how to get the tag. So I decided that I needed to put it on the blog so that people could get it easily.

I made this "We aPIEciate You" tag in PicMonkey for our teachers. I specified it for them and the fact that the PTO was giving it to them. I have now made a few more generic options for those not thanking from a PTO and for those not thanking teachers specifically. There is a single option of each tag (which you can right click and save to your computer), a sheet of the teacher tags (not from PTO), and a blank one with instructions on how to personalize it.

I tied each tag to a mini mason jar pie. These were pumpkin pecan made from THIS recipe. I quadrupled the recipe for the filling for 32 jars and tripled the topping. You could also attach a big ol' pie if it was for one person. You could buy those mini wrapped pies instead of making jar pies. Possibilities are endless.

Okay so for the blank one. Here is how you personalize it.

After you have downloaded the image onto your computer, go to PicMonkey. Under the edit, choose the computer icon. Then select the saved image.

It should look like this.

The font you need is Chunk Five. Add Text.

Make the word of the person you are thanking fit. Also make sure your caps are on. Add spaces or increase the text size to fit the space.

Change the color to 8e0500 in the text edit box.

If you want to add a from, then type the text you want and adjust color and size.

Then you can save and print it off. Woot.

An Apple For Teacher

Some are already back in school. We have about three more weeks. I really like to show up to back-to-school night with a gift for our teachers. Last year I chose to go with the classic "apple for teacher" theme. I thought a little outside the box and went with little apple pies for the teacher. I used store bought pie dough and apple pie filing. I lined the inside of the smallest sized mason jar with pie crust. A couple of spoonfuls of pie filling was topped with a lattice top. To make the lattice I cut out strips, wove them together and then used the ring from the jar to cut out a circle top. Then I sealed the top to the crust in the jar by gently pinching around the edge. Bake at 325 until the crust is golden brown.

I put the mini pies in a cupcake box. Then I wrapped the box with yarn, punched a hole in the tag, signed our names, and tied it to the box.

I am pretty sure my kids got all A's because of these pies. I feel like they owe me or something. Kidding, my kids are smarties and didn't need no stinking pies. However, I am sure the teachers didn't mind getting them.

St. Patrick's Day Teacher Appreciation Gift (Printable)

Sorry I am sharing this St. Patrick's Day Teacher Appreciation Gift so late. I had the best of intentions to get it to you guys yesterday. That would at least give you half a day to whip something together if you wanted to. Alas, it obviously didn't happen.

My computer has seen better days people. I normally try and work on The Hub's computer after he gets home, but he has been needing it for work and that means I am back to Old Bessie here. After my card reader (yes that is how old my computer is) led me on a merry chase, I finally was able to get to my photos and edit them.

I debated still sharing these, but they are so gosh dang cute I just had to. Plus, thanks to Pinterest holiday ideas can live on past their actual holiday and be saved for the next year.

So here is my St. Patrick's Day Teacher Appreciation Gift.

I went to a local store and cleared them out of all their green soda. The cashier was all, "Wow! You must really like this soda." He seemed only a little less confused when I told him I was in PTO and it was for our teachers. Haha!

I created this tag in PicMonkey and used the "POPPED" as a play on words of the soda. You all know how I like a good play on words!

You know what else I like?

Color coordination.
Paper Straws.
Washi Tape.

So I had to use it all.

I hot glued the St. Patrick's Day label (CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD) to the bottle. Then I taped a paper straw to the side. Easy Peasy. You could tape these to green cans or bottles of soda if you can't find green colored soda. Any way you do it, it is a fun way to tell a teacher you feel lucky to have them.

Amaze-BALLS Teacher Valentine

Saturday is Valentine's Day. That means that Friday is the day that Valentine's gets celebrated at school. So it is time for Teacher Valentine's. Every year I try to come up with a little something for the Little Men's teachers. Last year I even had to come up with something for all the teachers since I am over Teacher Appreciation for our school.

Last year we did the CRUSH Valentine's for the teachers. They were probably one of my favorite teacher Valentine's to date and I was totally figuring that I couldn't come up with something for this year that I liked as much.

Then I realized that I love gumballs, I love the made up word amazeballs, and I love teachers. So the Valentine pretty much wrote itself.

To make these I gathered a couple of glass milk bottles and some gumballs. I opted for these sweet pink gumballs.

I gathered a helper or two and filled the bottles with the gumballs.

I made these tags in PicMonkey. Then I printed out enough Amazeballs Tags for each teacher.

I tied on the tags with a bit of fabric. There ya have it. A fun, delightfully fantastic way to say Happy Valentine's Day to your kids' teachers.

Back to School Teacher Gift

School is back in. For my kiddos it has been just a few days. Some of your kids have been in school for several weeks. No matter if it has been less than a week or almost a month, it isn't too late to drop a little something off for your kids' teacher.

This is an easy to put together little gift for teacher that is sure to brighten their day.

Here is what you need--

cookies (homemade or store bought)
quart canning jars (Ball currently has these new "vintage" inspired green jars)
odds and ends to decorate with (fabric, ribbon, clothespin, doily, lace, etc.)
tag (right click on image below to save to your computer)

I made the tag in Picmonkey's design setting using:

school paper overlay

geometric overlay

vintage flower overlay

fonts: Sweetheart and Tall Dark and Handsome

See, how simple is that! You can pretty much gather what you have, print off this tag and you are done.

Seriously, it is as easy and lovely as that.

Picnic Teacher Gift

I can't get over this Picnic Themed Gift. Really I can't get over the picnic blanket itself. Way to go Target! You never disappoint.

I really wanted to do a Picnic Teacher Gift for one of our teachers. I originally was just going to look for a regular blanket, then I found these amazing picnic blankets while strolling the aisles of Target. I fell in love with the pattern and colors.

Once I had the blanket picked out I got to geek out with more color coordinating. Then the whole delightful Picnic Gift came together.

I made a giant tag using Picmonkey to attach to the gift. Making customized tags is really easy and I have a post coming up on Friday to show you how to make your own tags in PicMonkey.

This tag says, "It has been a PICNIC having you as a teacher!" A Picnic Themed gift would also make a great wedding present. You can make the say anything punny and picnicy.

Then just pack the gift with anything befitting a picnic. Making it coordinate is just a bonus.

Plate, napkins, straws, soda, a picnic basket, and even a gift card to a sandwich restaurant.

Tie it all together. There ya have it, the gift of Summer.

 

Have I mentioned how much I love this blanket? Have I mentioned I love these colors? Well, love AND love.

Double love. 

I also love how this Picnic Themed Present turned out. I think that it might turn into one of my go-to presents for weddings now.

Teacher Appreciation: Refreshing and DeLIGHTful Teacher Tags

I have another Teacher Appreciation Gift idea for you today. It is easy. SO easy. Plus it is really affordable.

I really wanted to have a non-sweet gift to give to our teachers. You know to accompany the totally sweet and sugary Smart Cookie Teacher Appreciation gift I also made for them. Ha.

I love these water bottles. First, because they are kind of design-tastic. I know, who loves the design of water bottles. Well, this girl. The other reason I love them, is because even though they are disposable water bottles, they can actually be reused over and over thanks to the awesome spout.

I used my love of these water bottles AND my love of Crystal Light as inspiration for this Teacher Appreciation Gift.

I made up these "refreshing" teacher tags to tie on to the water bottles.

I also added these tiny circle "deLIGHTful" teacher tags to attach a couple of packets of single serving Crystal Light.

I tied everything together with some fabric scraps and some yarn.

Bam. Just like that I have a cute and non sugary gift to give to our hard working teachers.

Smart Cookie Teacher Appreciation {printable}

Today starts Teacher Appreciation Week. I kind of love Teachers. So I in turn kind of love Teacher Appreciation Week. In fact, this year for that whole PTO thing, I am in charge of Teacher Appreciation at our school.

Hence the drastic and crazy lack of posts. Tack on Teacher Appreciation Week to returning from a week long visit to my grandma's and blogging has taken a back seat...a really, really back seat.

But today I am back, and I am back with this fun Teacher Appreciation  printable. Just in time for Teacher Appreciation Week.

I used two of my favorite things to make this teacher gift.

My first favorite thing, mason jars. Guys I LOVE mason jars. Like a lot, a lot.

I used a cobalt blue spray paint to make the lid and rings really pop. P.S. I also really love blue, but that isn't one of the favorite things I am talking about.

My other favorite thing...PicMonkey. I talk a lot about using PicMonkey, a photo editing site. One day I need to do a whole post about how to utilize all the great tools PicMonkey has to offer. The site is magical.

I use PicMonkey to create tags, posters, invitations, photo projects, hand outs, fliers ... not to mention also editing my photos.

These Smart Cookie Teacher Appreciation Tags were made completely in PicMonkey, including that little faux Oreo.

These tags are a little smaller than the ones I used in my photos. If you want to use a larger tag, you can right click on the image below and save the JPEG. You can make the JPEG the size you want in a Word type document.

 Print off. Cut out. Then attach it to Oreo cookies anyway you like. You can attach the tag to a jar of Oreos, a bag of Oreos, a package of Oreos (big or snack sized). Tie a ribbon around it or tape it on.

Any way you give it out, this is an easy, quick, and fun way to thank a teacher this week for Teacher Appreciation Week.
