Swiss and Ham Roll Ups

These are pretty much awesome. Everyone loved them. What's not to love...they have cheese, cream cheese, ham, Parmesan cheese, (you don't have to tell the kids about the broccoli), butter, and it is all rolled up in the BEST roll recipe EVER.

Thanks again Mel, from My Kitchen Cafe oh how I heart you and kind of wished we neighbors so that I could randomly show up for dinner EVERY night.

So today I am going to be lazy, since I am in Hawaii and all (okay I promise I will stop bragging about that soon) and I am going to send you over to her actual recipe. Thanks for allowing me to be lazy!

So go on over get her recipe for  Swiss and Ham Roll Ups AKA her Savory Spiral Stuffed Rolls

Guest Post: Craftiness is Not Optional

I am SO excited to have Jessica here today. I seriously HEART her blog. If you have never been over there, make sure to put it on your blogging to do list. Her site is AH-mazing. It is full of fabulous sewing projects. The kind that make you want to bust out your sewing machine and spend the afternoon sewing.

Here are a couple of my favorite projects from Jessica-

I wasn't kidding around when I said she was awesome.

So while I am laying on the beach with the clear blue Hawaiian water lapping onto my toes, here is Jessica to give you a great t-shirt embellishment tutorial.

Hi everyone! I'm Jessica, from Craftiness is not Optional.

I would like to show you a fun tee shirt embellishment. yeah? ok!

Buy two shirts, one to cut up, one to wear. Cut strips from the cutter about 1/2 inch wide.

braid together like so...sew on more strips as you go.

(tip: stagger the new strips so the seams are easier to hide)

 sew onto neckline!

 you're done!

I debated adding another row...I may still do that.

hello collar bone. and messy fabric shelves. good model pose, huh?

Thanks for having me Larissa! hope you're having fun on vaca!

Best EVER Red Potatoes

My hubby LOVES and I mean L-O-V-E-S red potatoes. If you love so much, why don't you marry them??? Sorry I had to. Really I think, he just might.

Several months ago he sent me the link to this recipe...yes my hubby gets an email feed from Your Homebased Mom.

Silly hubby, I had already checked her blog that day, but I couldn't ignore that hint, so obviously I made these. I will have you know that with every bite his red-potato-lovin' smile got bigger and bigger.

He said and I quote, "You know how I LOVE red potatoes at restaurants, and how they never taste like that at home (don't worry I wasn't offended)?

"Yes, dear."

"Well these taste just as good if not better!"

So every other grocery trip I grab a bag of red potatoes...you know I gotta help hubby with his starchy vegetable fix.

Seriously, give these a try. They make a great side dish. They are SIMPLE. They are yummy!

Best EVER Red Potatoes

small bag of red potatoes
2-3 tablespoons butter, melted
sea salt
pepper
olive oil

Preheat oven to 400 uh I actually meant 350 (it was late the first time I posted this). Pour melted butter in bottom of 9X13 pan. After washing potatoes, place them in pan and coat evenly with melted butter. Drizzle evenly with olive oil. Salt and pepper to your taste. Don't be shy about using the salt...remembers to potatoes they are like oxygen.

Bake for 2 hours, uncovered. Yes, I said 2 hours. Just trust me.

Your potato-lovin' kids and/or hubby will not be able to go back to just any old red potatoes.
