Sewing Some Presents

I have been sewing stuff...what??? I know you are all shocked.

I have been sewing a lot of things for presents as of late. Two I kind of want to share with you...mostly because I love them.

Take this guy...

Domo arigato Mr. Roboto. I totally knocked this guy off from a robot sewn for us by a friend using THIS pattern. A pattern that looks totally AH-mazing, I was just in a crazy mood and decided to see if I could whip one out myself. I did it, but I will say this, the pattern robot is TOTALLY cuter.

I still love my not-as-cute-robot. So did the Little Man it was for.

My other hand-crafted gift was the oh-so-popular Black Apple doll. I did use the pattern for this. I might have embellished her up a bit with the scalloped collar, the flower and the teeny tiny apron.

I also chose to leave her face off...don't ask me why. I just like the simplicity of it. I will probably try a little face next time.

I also decided to put together a sweet matching apron for her new owner.

Still sewing away over here. Some last minute Easter projects and some more gifts. Wish me luck that I can get them all done.

If I haven't said it lately,
I sure appreciate all of you and your loveliness and kindness.
Thanks for reading this little blog!

Just In Time for Easter: Easter Mason Jar Planters

Today I am posting the tutorial I shared with the CSI Project last week.

These are pretty fast to put together and they would look great on any Easter table.

Easter Mason Jar Planters

All you need:

mason jars, any shape and size

several of your favorite springy colors of Krylon spray paint

small bag of potting soil

some pretty flowers...make sure they grow in small groups
I chose alyssum, perfectly light and fresh

Getting started:

With your jars flipped with the mouth down, spray paint each jar the color you want. The first coat should be a very light coating, not covering all the way. After the first coat sets for just 10 minutes, you can follow up with a second coat. Repeat until you have the coverage you want.

After they have dried 24 hours, we can transfer over our spring plants.

Make a paper funnel and place it in the mouth of your jar. Slowly scoop in potting soil.

Fill just over two thirds full, leaving plenty of room for your plant.

Separate your flowers into natural smaller groups.

Transplant your flowers into the jar. Add in any extra soil around the plant that is needed to fill the jar.

Repeat with all the jars.

They are super lovely just as is, but for Easter they need more, don't ya think?

I found some bunny silhouette's that I cut out from white vinyl. Then I applied my little bunnies to one side of the jar.

Perfect.

Repeat with all the jars, some of the jars, all the same bunnies, different bunnies. You call the shots. I used different shapes and I left one jar plain.

Line them up on your table for a simply lovely Easter decoration.

Tea Clothing Collection: Review and Giveaway

giveaway now closed

A few weeks ago I got a lovely package in the mail, just perfect for my Oldest Little Man.

Tea Clothing gave me the opportunity to pick out a t-shirt and pair of shorts for one of my Little Men to try them out and give their clothing a review. I was ecstatic! I immediately went to their site and started shopping. I love the casual laid back ease of their clothing. I kept finding item after item that I LOVED.

Finally I narrowed it down to this great outfit (modern tee and gray shorts)-

Oldest Little Man loved these clothes. They are super comfortable. I loved them because they were play clothes that were stylish...not important to the player but so important to the momma of the player. These clothes are really well made and wash well.

Being a west coast girl, I love the west coast vibe of their clothes. I am definitely going to go back to their shop. There were far too many things that caught my eye. Here are some other items that got put on my "need to have" list-

Awesome t-shirts

Could you just die over these baby onesies??

I am pretty sure it is not a secret how much I love a great pair of shoes.

Even though I only have boys, that did not keep me from drooling over these AH-mazing little girls dresses.

Are you in love yet?

I can't blame you.

There is some good news. Tea Clothing didn't just want to give me a chance to try out their clothes, they also offered to give one of my readers a little gift.

Well, okay a big gift...they are giving one of my readers a  $50 gift card. Say what??? Yeah you can start cheering now.

You have two chances to enter the giveaway:

1. Go to Tea Collection and browse around. Tell me what your favorite things is.

2. Follow Just Another Day in Paradise

Make sure to leave a separate comment for each entry.
