The Nursery

Woohoo. The nursery got done. Insert a happy little jig here.

Thanks to many, many helping hands for getting the big things done...aka the board and batten and the painting.

I am still amazed that I got 99% of my projects done. The fabric pile was ridiculous...gorgeous, but ridiculous. My sewing machine is probably ready for a big ol' break.

Since I am pretty sure this is the cutest nursery we have ever had...I might have gone crazy with the photos for you guys...just humor the 9 months pregnant lady.

Here is a little run down of what got done-

walls painted two different colors (hubby's parents)
board and batten put up in the whole room (hubby)
dresser painted a new awesome turquoise (me and sister)
bed skirt got a new dark brown bottom border
new crib bumpers
new pillow on chair
recovered stained chair cushion
canvas wall art painted
embroidery hoop wall art
curtains sewn
plastic elephants painted
ADORABLE chevron blanket crocheted (my mom)
added some new storage thanks to Target

Whew! I think that is it.

Okay here is my little photo gallery of Bean's nursery. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

There ya have it. Now all I need is a new, sweet, soft baby for the nursery and it will be perfect.

Soon...fingers crossed soon.

In a Nutshell: All My Bags Are Packed...

..."I'm ready to go..." I have been singing that song ALL week. Just ask Hubby.

Oh if only Bean was as ready to go as I was. He seems to be just fine and dandy hanging out within.

While I highly doubted this week would be the week, I spent the week preparing anyway.

Diaper bag got packed this week.

Overnight bag got packed.

Did you notice the turquoise dresser?

Bean's room got all finished this week.

Here is a sneak peak...

The room turned out SO good. Love. It.

You know who sometimes doesn't love it?

This guy...

Sometimes he isn't sure about giving Baby Brother his old room.

But just sometimes. Most the time he is excited for when Baby is going to "Pop out!".

Me too Little Man, me too...well except for the whole "popping out" part.

Cinnamon Churro Chex Mix

Ah Cinnamon. Ah Chex Mix. Ah CHURROS.

Simply delightful.

I knew when I saw this recipe on the ever lovely Pinterest I knew I had to eventually make it. I made two major alterations to her original recipe.

This recipe is fast and yummy. The hardest part of this recipe is simply finding the cinnamon chips. Once you find yourself some of those, well my friends a Churro-riffic, snack-tastic treat of epic proportions is soon yours.

Enjoy. We sure did!

Cinnamon Churro Chex Mix
adapted from this pin

9 cups rice Chex cereal
3 cups cinnamon chips
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Pour Chex cereal into a bowl. Set aside. Combine sugars and cinnamon in another small bowl. Set aside.

In a microwavable bowl, melt the cinnamon chips. Heat for 1 minute then stir. Heat for an additional 30 seconds. Stir. Continue with additional 30 seconds until completely melted. Pour melted cinnamon chips over the cereal. Stir until cereal is well coated.

Sprinkle with half of the cinnamon sugar mixture. Toss to coat. Pour out the cereal onto a cookie sheet. Continue to sprinkle and toss the cereal with the rest of the cinnamon sugar mixture.

Now go ahead and snack away!

38 Weeks

I have hit 38 weeks. It feels like 50 weeks.

I am slow. I am tired. I am a walking big belly. I am the poster-child for the song "Fat-Bottomed Girls", and no, I do not make the rockin' world go round.

For the first time ever in pregnancy, my feet and calves are swelling. Arg.

Getting off the couch at night is a comedy feat in itself. If you need a good giggle just come over about 10 at night and watch me attempt to get off our couch.

Even though all of this makes me grumpy and has been hard, I am grateful to have had a healthy pregnancy. Bean will be here soon enough. Hopefully soon enough I will be not large. We will increase our family and the love within. I really do recognize how blessed I am.

In attempt to improve my attitude I had my sister snap some prego pictures of me and Bean. Enjoy, they will be the last pregnancy ones. I have a really hard time documenting the last bloated stage of pregnancy...some things should be better kept unphotographed...hahahaha.

Here is to 38 weeks and only 1 week to go...

Hey did you also notice I got a new haircut???

Have a great Wednesday everyone! Run a lap for me...how how I miss being able to run!
