We met up with our friends the Baldwin's, who have claimed the boys as their surrogate grandkids. They had been staking out the fair since lunchtime and already had picked out some spots the boys would like.
We saw a GIANT lego train set, I couldn't believe how cool it was. Yes that is corn made from legos!
We saw all kinds of animals, much to Jack's delight. We thought the horses would be his favorite, but he seemed to enjoy the rabbits and the baby chicks most.
Cole's only request for the evening was a ride on the ferris wheel. Spencer and I were a little shocked because he is not normally a ride person. We went as a whole family, and Jack's was the only one who didn't care for it.
I was all economic and health conscience and brought a packed lunch. Unfortunately, by the end of the night we could no longer fight of the glorious scent of fair food and we caved and got some corndogs! Nothing like a good fair corndog! HOWEVER, something that we will never be trying is this:
Can you say, "EW Gross!"? We saw this walking out and thought it was picture worthy. I am not sure who would eat this, but I guess I shouldn't knock it until....okay so I just don't think I can ever even joke about having it! Nothing like going to a fair.

How Fun! Love that picture of Jack peeking over the fence at the animals. Now I cannot wait to go to our upcoming state fair!
Every year they come up with a new food creation. Do they still have deep fried Twinkies and candy bars?
Lucky! I wish we had a couple in the ward to love our kids!! Hopefully someone in Marietta will... it's hard being without family.
Oh my heck... I wish I was there with you. I get to go to the Roseburg fair today (don't be jealous). Unfortunately I don't think we are up to your giant lego display status. I hear we have bunnies... I'm sure I could find a couple mullets too. P.S. That picture of you is super. Love you!

I've never been to a fair before. It looks like fun! I hear they always have some crazy food. Looks like they have lots of fun things for kids. That's cool!
Jack, and the rest of you, can come to our house anytime to look at chickens and other animals! The ferris wheel looks like fun too.
Hey, thanks for checking out our blog and can I say holy cow you have alot of blogs. When I click on you name a million came up so I had to keep checking until I found your familys. All your blogs, why cute!!!! I'll link to yours too. Love the fair pics, you are much braver then I.
Looks like you guys had such a fun time! I think Andy and I might try to hit up the KY state fair this weekend! Maybe that will give THE ohio state fair a run for its money :)
you should meet my husband because several people in his family, including himself, will mix mashed potatoes with roast beef. It makes me want to puke. I was at the boardwalk and saw a cart selling deep fried twinkies--that also made me want to puke! It should have said "Heart clogging lard" as the slogan instead.:)
