If you go back to this post, you will recognize where I got the cable sweater for these gloves. I had SO much sweater left over I decided to make myself a pair of matching gloves. It was pretty easy, setting aside that the sweater got a little wonky as I sewed it making the edges not as rounded as I would have liked.
What made it so easy was that I cut the mitten pattern from the bottom of the sweater, so there was no edge to finish. See--
My favorite part is the sweet knit lining on the inside. These two colors are on my current "heart it" list.
It snowed a ton yesterday so I put them on to keep my hands toasty warm. Totally worked. My hands haven't been this happy in a LONG time. I may or may not have worn gloves much up to this point. AND my hands may or may not look like those of a withered 80 year old. Sorry hands I promise to try to fix that.
We all got bundled up to enjoy the snow.
We had a blast.
However, now that I have got my hands all toasty warm, maybe I should work on actually buying a pair of appropriate boots so that my feet don't get frost bite and so I don't lose a toe or two.

Nice mittens. After living through four winters here I finally bought myself a good coat and snow pants this year and finally feel prepared for all our snow.
