FROYO Week: Mango Honey Frozen Yogurt

Yesterday's frozen yogurt recipe was my kind of recipe. Cinnamon, cinnamon, more cinnamon and then top it all of with cookie dough...yup, that is my kind of treat.

Not everyone is a baked good flavored frozen yogurt lover. Some people like it all natural, healthy, and fresh.

Take hubby for instance. He is one of those people.

We go out for ice cream, frozen yogurt, shakes, or pretty  much dessert of any kind and he almost always steers himself toward fruity something or other.

As he contemplates which fruit to add to his dessert, I just shake my head and wonder where in the world is the chocolate or cookie or brownie.

So today's recipe is for those more traditional frozen yogurt fans. The ones who like it fresh, fruity, and void of any extra sugar. All natural...NATCH-UR-AL...insert my best Matthew McConaughey impression here. I am not sure if I really even heard him ever say that in a movie, but when I thought it in my head he was the person I heard saying it. Go figure. I will have you know I had to google how to spell his last name...talk about tricky.

This Mango Honey Frozen Yogurt is tangy and fresh. The majority of the flavor comes from fresh mangoes and a touch of honey...hence my really ingenious name.

Mango Honey Frozen Yogurt
Sweet Basil

1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/2 cup 0% Greek yogurt
1/4 cup honey
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 mangoes, peeled and diced

In a food processor or a blender, puree the diced mangoes until smooth. Then add the rest of the ingredients into the food processor or blender and mix until completely incorporated.

Chill for about 30 minutes before adding it to your ice cream maker.

Serve immediately and wait for it.....

Can you hear the refreshed chorus of "ahhhhs"?

The perfect end to a perfect Summer day.
