Green and Orang Hoppy Easter Mantel

Happy Easter...or should I say HOPPY Easter?!

I went a little cray with the HOPPY theme for my Easter decorations.

After I made the Easter Teacher Appreciation gifts for this year, I fell in love with the whole bunny thing. I also happened to become obsessed with using green and orange for my Easter colors.

With my bunny love and green and orange obsession in mind I went to brain storming.

In the middle of that storm my brain settled on something that I was rather giddy about.

I am in love, love I tell you, with the oh-so-popular song by Pharrell Williams "Happy".

My love of this song sparked me to make a printable to go along with my Green and Orange Hoppy Easter Mantel.

Drumroll...

Ta-Duh!

Oh heavens! I really love these clipboard signs. It was one of those moments when I actually felt a bit clever. Just a bit mind you.

A funny little Easter homage to my current favorite song.

I paired my happy...er...uh...hoppy signs with a lot more green and orange, including some tissue pom poms. I do love my tissue pom poms.

I also am a big fan of decorating with candy, because well, duh I LOVE candy.

Another thing I love, giant kelly green bunny art. Now I haven't always been in love with giant green bunnies. That is new.

Thanks to this.

He sits there rather jollily.

I also added in these ceramic bunny garden stakes to some IKEA fake grass. I found these sweet little bunnies at Target. I simply spray painted them orange to fit into my green and orange theme.

Then it seemed best to throw a carrot printable in. Ya know the whole bunnies like carrots and carrots are orange and green thing seemed to fit.

So I created these simple carrot prints using PicMonkey. Then I put them up with some green washi tape next to my giant green bunny.

There ya have it. My whole green and orange obsession right there in one Springy and festive place.

I hope you enjoy my bit of spring and Easter.
I hope you enjoy these printables...especially my little ode to Pharrell Williams' HAPPY.

Black and White Halloween Mantle

Recently one of my kids asked me what my favorite color is. Hands down...

WHITE.

I love it. Love and love and love it.  Especially in my house.

So I kind of use it a lot.

If I had all the say-so, more moolah, and Little Men without a penchant for making messes, then it is quite possible there would be even more white around my house.

For Halloween this year, I actually did a little decorating. If you have been around this here blog for a bit, you know I don't typically decorate for Halloween. However, this year, I just couldn't help myself.

Mostly because of the idea I got in my noggin for this...

We have a pretty great mantle. It is big and spacious. The wood is pretty (yes I probably would love it a little more if it were white). There is only one little hiccup with our mantle area. There is a cabinet built into the wall above the mantle meant for a box TV.

It is a fixture that without some minor construction and the previously mentioned moolah, will not disappear.

So work with it I shall.

That is what lead to me dreaming up the giant EEK canvas.

After I painted the Ombre Eek Halloween Art, I added in some more pops of white and black.

I spray painted some cheapo plastic pumpkins. Seriously they were like .98.  I filled some milk bottles with dry black beans. Yup, ordinary black beans you can buy at the grocery store.

In one more attempt to hide the TV cabinet, I put up a wreath. I bought a plain grapevine wreath and then spray painted it black. I added a black and white fabric sash.

All this black and white, I still needed a touch of Halloween.

So I made this itty bitty witches hat for my little white owl. (I gave a sneak peak of this Owl yesterday on Instagram--@larissa-anotherday).

A little felt and some hot glue and Little Mantle Owl is all boo-tastic.

Eek..could you die?

For the finishing touches, I added a felt bat garland and a white pom pom garland.

Now we are practically ready for frights, cackles, and all things Halloween.

Well, except I have that whole 'gotta finish costumes' thing going on...

...so stay tuned for more Halloween fun...

I also might have that bat pattern for you...

Ooh and I have another fun and easy Halloween decoration idea involving vinyl...we all love vinyl.

Happy Halloween!

Glitter Mason Jar Vases-Patriotic Center Pieces

I was beyond excited to work with American Crafts and their new Glitter line.

Glitter-tastic is what it is!

I fell in love with their glitter in all forms.

I knew when I saw the super fine glitter and the strong double sided adhesive that they should immediately be friends and that they needed to make something beautiful.

I also knew mason jars needed to be involved. Also since I got the patriotic glitter pack, I knew there needed to be some stars.

I made these Glitter Mason Jar Vases and filled them with white daisies and glitter stars and dots to make a very patriotic centerpiece.

The gingham jar might be my very favorite.

Not that I don't also love the ombre striped jars too. 'Cause I do.

Now table it fully Red, White, and Blue ready with just the right amount of sparkle, and all thanks to this great paper and glitter line from American Crafts.

The Patriotic Glitter pack from American Crafts includes some insanely cute paper.

Then there is all the glitter-tastic fun.

This double sided adhesive tape is FANTASTIC. Awesome I tell you. Along with the glitter, this was the key player in the making of my Glitter Mason Jar Vases.

For the Ombre Jars, I wrapped the tape around the jars.

Then they dusted them with glitter. I shook off the excess. I started with the darker shade and then did another stripe with the lighter blue.

For the gingham jar I just cut 1" squares of the double adheasive. Then I laid them out in a checker pattern. Then I dusted every square with the white glitter.

For the stars and dots to go into the flowers, I cut circles and stars out of the red, white, and blue glitter paper. Then I attached the stars and dots to a long skinny dowel.

The dowel stuck to one star. Then the other star got stuck to the top.

Repeat until you have all the stars and dots a person could ever want.

Stick them right into the flowers.

The perfect addition to the Glitter Mason Jars. These would be super cute on the table of an outdoor 4th of July barbeque.

Thank you American Crafts for these great products. Keep an eye out for their glitter products in your local stores. They can also be found on Amazon

Simple Easter Decorations

I finally put up some Easter decorations.

I love these blue/green colors. I also love the simple pop of pink.

I was inspired by the new line of paper and elements by American Crafts, Dear Lizzie Fifth & Frolic (now available at JoAnn's). The line features refreshing and crisp blues, greens (which I obviously LOVED), pinks and yellows.

There is also absolutely delightful glitter paper.

The paper inspired several projects, including some much needed Easter decorations.

I used my Silhouette to cut out a lot of bunnies in the blues and greens and one in pink.

With the help of Mr. Elmer, I attached my bunnies to a blank canvas.

I spaced them out "evenly", or as "evenly" as I could eye ball. 'Cause that is how I roll.

I also cut out some 1/2" strips.

I glued them to a piece of cardstock paper.

On the back of the cardstock I drew an Easter egg shape.

Then I cut it out. I flipped it over and it gave me a lovely stripped egg.

I put it in a handy dandy frame from Ikea.

I had some leftover scraps of the strips, so I started punching out circles from the scraps and from another piece of pink paper.

I sewed them all together to make a little banner.

Now I have a little spot befitting a little Spring festiveness.

I have another project using this paper that I am excited to show you next week sometime if I can get my act together between two birthday parties and Easter. A sweet and lovely girly project. The kind of project I don't often get to do in this house full of boys.

Thanks for reading!
Have a fabulous day.
