In a Nutshell: Organize, Clean, Clean, and Asthma

This week we have been cleaning. Not just your everyday normal clean...well at least not mine. I am talking taking everything, practically everything, and putting it away.

Surfaces are almost completely bare.

This is the way I have wanted my kitchen to look for years. Clutter free. Paper free.

The top of the refrigerator bare.

It is like a sigh of relief.

We even cleared out our bedroom. Which is saying a lot. I hope I am not the only one who's bedroom becomes the holding room for the house's junk. Sad to say our room is probably my least favorite room in the house. The minimally decorated room is still sad and painfully bare, BUT at least now it is free of clutter. Woohoo.

I could just breathe a sigh of relief every time I see our organized, uncluttered house.

Speaking of breathing.

This Little Man had a new discovery this week. After years of suspecting, and 6 months of a wicked hacking cough, it was finally agreed that this guy has asthma.

Not surprising since there is a family history. So now this device is his very best friend. He uses it twice a day and will for the unforeseeable future.

Thanks to this device/medicine we have not heard a cough in 2 days. Glory be!

I do realize I still have not spilled the beans about
our surprise. Many of you are probably putting the pieces together
and are figuring it out.

It will all come out SOON.

Your house is gorgeous! And SO clean! It reminds me a lot of what my house looked like just about a year ago...so I think I may have an idea about your secret. :)

Gorgeous! I just pinned your picture of the top of your fridge because I LOVE the idea of baskets for all the papers to go up there. Your kitchen makes me want to work harder on ours. I need to do some painting and lots more painting to get it there...so it always seems to be pushed down the list. But, oh, yours looks beautiful.

Awww...I bet he feels SO much better now that his airways are opened up. Your house looks great, but it always does. I know your surprise, I think, but just can't remember the where part.

It looks awesome. Although, I may have to sneak in and destroy it, therefore delaying your "surprise"..kidding, kind of. :)

We had the same thing with my son! He was hacking himself to the point of vomiting - especially at night - and his nose was a never ending faucet. It took us like 6 months to get a diagnosis and he has seasonal allergies and allergy induced asthma. Since he started on Singulair, Nasonex and his Albuterol inhaler - life has been so much better for him! He only takes the Nasonex when his allergies are really bad, Singulair about 6 months out of the year, and inhaler when allergies are really bad. We a few months last year when even those three weren't helping and his allergist put him on a Qvar inhaler and that totally helped. Now we're well controlled and he can sleep at night.

I'm so envious of the clean kitchen. I need to follow your example and put things AWAY! lol

My, your kitchen looks so neat and idyllic! Its just what I'd have wanted my future kitchen to look like, even with the blue theme. :D

Yay for clean and fresh! I don't mind sparse as long as it's clutter free! Glad you got the asthma diagnosed and the inhaler is working!
