In a Nutshell: Baby You're a Firework
We spent this week getting patriotic. On Friday we donned our patriotic wear, baked some treats, packed our picnic, and headed into Columbus.
Going to the firework show was one of the few things the boys requested we get to do before moving. They were super excited. Once we got there, we maneuvered the crowds, found a sliver of space to lay down our blankets, and then we set up camp.
We luckily were able to find some friends and made it a party.
We ate some yummy food...the children were delightfully covered in neon orange cheese powder.
We had a lot of fun hanging out.
Waiting for the fireworks was definitely the hardest part. Patience ran low, energy ran out...but with a little snuggle time...and some, uh sugar...we made it until 10:00.
The fireworks were ah-mazing. The older two loved it...the Littlest stayed cocooned in Daddy's arms trying to shut out the world.
Our last Red, White and Boom was a very memorable experience. I wonder what Idaho offers??

Sounds so fun! I'm a recent follower of your blog (I spent an hour catching up on what I missed :] ) All this talk of moving is making me sad... which I know is ridiculous because I only know you from your blog, and you'll still be there! Your children seem like little delights, and I love your recipes and tutorials. I don't cook nor sew, but I'm book marking a lot of them for when I move out on my own :)
Happy 4th!
This is what life is all about, I have relocated and there is lots of good things. What helped me with the move was I found a church that is my new family. The hardest part of the move was I went to the market and I couldn't find things where they should be. I had to make turkey dinner.
Amanda, Thank you...You are sweet.
ga447, moving can be tough and a wonderful adventure, can't it?? Thanks for the words of advice.
How fun =) I have been following your blog for sometime and just want to say that I know moving can be rough. I don't currently live in Idaho but that is where I long to be. I really think you will love it there. What part are you guys moving to?
Erin, Thanks for the peptalk about Idaho. We are moving to the southeast part. Only been there once, but I am sure we will love it.
You will LOVE the firework show in Idaho AND the parade. The 4th is one of my favorite holidays because of those traditions! I am missing it!! Looks like a good time. Love ya!
It was SO hot , I'm glad you guys survived!
Well, here in Idaho falls, we have the Melaleuca Freedom Celebration. There is stuff going on all day on the greenbelt (across from the Idaho Falls temple) and then a HUGE fireworks show that lasts at least 45 minutes. Oh, and the fireworks are set to music! It is so much fun!
Yeah! Thanks Alayna. That sounds great. We will for sure look forward to that.
